Tips for Landing Your First Client as an Entrepreneur

Can I tell you a story?

God gave me a vision....Calming Oncology Oasis Spa. I had no idea the how tos, where the money was going to come from etc. All I had was faith the size of a mustard seed.

I remember like it was yesterday, during Covid, mainly essential workers were able to work at the time. I had a job at Target in the beauty section. This one particular day, I was restocking the OTC facial cleansers. This lady came up to me asking for help. She told me that she recently had been diagnosed with cancer. She showed me a beautiful picture of her double mastectomy. At the time, I'm thinking who is the woman and why is she me this!

She came initially asking for skincare advice with the transition of her skin during active cancer treatments. That's when I shared with her, that I'm a licensed oncology trained esthetician and nail tech. How I will have a spa opened soon for current oncology patients undergoing treatments as well as survivors.

We exchanged contact information and went on about our days.

A year later, I received a phone call from this woman, recalling our meeting in Target, and how she was looking for someone to help with maintaining her nails during cancer treatment. I instantly thought about Target and my vision.

Now I've had first time clients before but Devora Black was my FIRST oncology client in my brand new oncology spa. She trusted me and had faith in that lady from Target. We became friends until the very end.

I'm writing this to say, your first client as an entrepreneur will leave their mark no matter what.

💕Devora has since gained her wings and it has hit me hard. She will be truly missed.
